Me avisa Xavi Ribes sobre Jaman un servicio de Video Bajo Demanda que en su fase beta ofrece descarga de films gratis. En español hay buenos títulos, como La puta y la ballena un film argentino, o El bulto un film mexicano, o Paloma de papel, un film de Perú, o Mujeres infieles, de Chile, o Silencio roto un film español, de Montxo Armendariz, con la actriz Lucia Jimenez (me gusta mucho). Suficiente como para entretenerse este fin de semana. (Aunque también iré al Espanyol-Zaragoza). Hay que descargar un player y vale para Mac (donde lo estoy probando) y PC (sin necesidad del Vista aquél).

• Lo comenta Genbeta pero les informo que no es sólo para ver trailers, sino, como digo, para ver films completos y con calidad DVD.

Pues hay restricciones geográficas. Resulta que cuando esta noche me disponía a descargar estos films, todos son de una productora (Venevision) que restringe el acceso en los países de lengua española. Por tanto ninguno de los films que cito en este post son accesibles desde España y América Latina. He probado con otros títulos y hay muy pocos que sean accesibles (“Villa Paranoia” un film danés con subtítulos en inglés). El sistema es bueno, pero la gestión de los derechos, lo desvirtúa.

I.m from the UK and want to get some Kung Fu films, which is the sole reason I’m here. However it seems that its unavailable for people in the UK.. please somebody help me or even give me a film thats is available.

Ah, yes. Film rights are complicated and in flux at the moment. Some companies allow us to distribute all over the world (Cinequest, TipTop), others are more restrictive (Celestial, Venevision).

Celestial, the library that provides the Shaw Brothers library and with it the Kung Fu films on Jaman, restricts that only people in the US and Canada.

Now, if I were you, being into Kung Fu, yet barred from seeing the films you seek, I would check out some of the Celestial and Vanguard titles. They are edgy and varied. There’s certain to be something that you might like. Plus, we add new ones all the time.
